Best if this process is done over a week’s time frame, counting down from Day 7 to Day 1 and the following Day Zero to finish, and rehydrate and refuel.
Days 7, 6, 5 and 4 eat light, whole foods. Eat plenty of whole grain, leafy green and mixed vegetables, and modest amounts of protein. Refrain from sugar, dairy and hydrogenated fats. Include grated salads and healthy unrefined oils, like olive, sunflower and grape seed oil. In addition, start each morning with 1 cup of warm water with juice of 2 TBLS of fresh lemon. Fifteen minutes later take 1-2 TBLS of extra virgin olive oil directly by spoon or add to hot cereal.
Days 3, 2, and 1. Continue eating well. Add the apple juice. Drink 1 Liter of Unfiltered Apple Juice each day of these three days prior to the evening of the first flushing mixtures, which will be done evening of day-1!!! A second flush occurs the following morning - “Zero” Day. Zero or Neutral as you have neutralized the toxins and have zero left - well... maybe not zero, but far less of a body burden).
EPSOM SALTS: 4 Tablespoons of Magnesium Sulphate to 3 cups of water. One TBS per 3/4 cup water.
3 cups water ( =750 ml = 7.5 dl )
If you have never taken epsom salts before, at least a week prior to the flush, to be sure you tolerate the magnesium sulfate, take one dose of Epsom Salts (1TBLS per 3/4 to 1 cup of water = one dose) on an empty stomach. You may follow with a second dose two hours later. Many of us will begin moving the bowels shortly after the second dose. Of course the epsom salts are very stimulating and will create loose stools, but it also opens up the bile ducts so the stool will be brown from the bile, not the yellow of diarrhea, and provide a nice clean out without cramping.
1 Gallon or 2 - 1.5 Liter Martinelli’s Unfiltered Apple Juice. The best apple juice is unfiltered. It is a cloudy, light brown liquid. Clear, filtered apple juice is too sweet and may cause sugar spikes or indigestion. Apple cider may be substituted if absolutely necessary, although it is also quite sweet. One liter of apple juice is consumed on each of the three days to soften any stones and improve bile flow.
Virgin Oil:1/2 (half) cup, usually extra virgin olive oil, and for best results, ozonate it for 20 minutes to 24 hours. If you have a tendency to indigestion or heartburn, replace olive oil with expeller pressed walnut oil. I have also used unrefined sunflower oil, which has a lighter flavor than olive and I can drink the oil without adding a mixer.
Mixer: Fresh pink grapefruit or my preference, a bottle of Classic Coke or Real (Throw Back) Pepsi. (no high fructose corn syrup).
1 large or 2 small lemons, enough to squeeze 2/3 cup juice. Hot wash twice first and dry each time.
Ornithine: 4 to 8 capsules, optional, but helps to ensure a good night's rest.
1 Saline Fleet Enema (just in case). - only needs to be used if you have not begun moving your bowels by 8:15, 8:30 PM at the latest.
Large plastic straw to help sip potions if desired.
How to Do the Flush
Choose a weekend for the cleanse, or a time when you will most likely be able to rest on Zero day. Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without. They may prevent complete success. On the day of the flush, eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch, such as: cooked cereal with fruit, grapefruit juice, good bread with natural preserves or raw honey, rice and steamed vegetables, vegetable soup or broth (no butter or milk), and of course the apple juice.
Day 1 - eat a light, healthy breakfast. 12:00 PM is ideal to begin fast. No later than 2:00 PM. Do not eat after 12 PM, 2 PM at the very latest if you are running late. If you feel hungry you can have more unfiltered apple juice. If you break this rule you could feel quite queasy later if you have any food still in your stomach. Get your Epsom salts ready if you like. Mix 4 Tbs. in 3 cups water and pour this into a jar or pitcher. This makes four servings, 3/4 (three fourths) cup (6 ounces) each serving. It is quite bitter, and you may have to hold your nose to get it down. That is why the recipe is three quarter cup water, rather than a cup.
You can also mix each glass at the scheduled time: 1 Tbs per 3/4 cup or 1 cup of water. Premixing allows Epsom salt mix to get ice cold in the refrigerator (this is for convenience and taste only).
6:00 PM. Drink one serving (3/4 cup water, premixed (1 TBLS e. salts) of the ice cold epsom salts. You may add 1/8 (one eight) tsp. vitamin C powder or lemon to improve the taste and aide in detox. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth. Get the virgin (olive, or my preference - sunflower) oil, (ozonated, if possible) and grapefruit juice or Coke (for emulsifying oil) out to warm up. The ozonated oil works much better as the ozone (O3) feeds the good bacteria and kills any microbes that are not beneficial as it passes through the system, but it is not necessary, and I do not recommend it if this is your first time. Wash and squeeze your lemons.
8:00 PM. Repeat by drinking another 3/4 (three fourths) cup of Epsom salt water. You haven't eaten since two o'clock, but you won't feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success. You may already be on the toilet evacuating your bowels.
9:45 PM. Pour 1/2 half cup (measure 4 ounces) olive oil into a glass. Wash grapefruit twice in hot water and dry; squeeze by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least 1/2 (half) cup, more (up to 3/4 (three fourths) cup) is best. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until emulsified. This is necessary if using fresh grapefruit juice. My preference is to use Classic Coke or Throwback Pepsi. Add this to the olive oil. Stirring is enough to emulsify oil with bubbles if you are using the soda and much more palatable. Sunflower oil can be used straight without anything added. My preference. Anything to simplify the process.
Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don't clean up the kitchen. Visit the bathroom one more time, even if it makes you late for your ten o'clock drink. No more than 15 minutes late though, as later timing will be less productive.
10:00 PM. Drink the oil (potion if you have mixed). Take 4 Ornithine capsules with the first sips to make sure you will sleep through the night (if you have them). Take 8 if you already suffer from insomnia. Drinking through a large plastic straw helps it all go down easier. The coke or pepsi (without corn syrup) also helps olive oil go down much easier. Take lemon juice between sips. (Lemon juice straight is the hardest for me to drink). Swallow the ornithine capsules (if you are using) with your oil. Take it all to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons). As soon as the drink is down, walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head/shoulders elevated on pillows.
Think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel something releasing along the bile ducts on right side of ribs. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts)! if you have to get up to use the bathroom one more time, see if you can wait the 20 minutes.
The next morning your B.M.'s will be different. Sometimes you will see some oil floating on the top with the first bowel movement. Sometimes there will be precipitated cholesterol crystals (looks like sand) which would eventually form into stones. They may clear with the flush and appear floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging stones. Real stones are lentil size and bright green. Getting the “crystals” or "stones" out should not be the main goal of the liver cleanse however.
People who are passing thousands of stones during a liver flush, are most likely not passing real gallstones. They may pass real gallstones or sand, but often what is seen are the kind of large clumps formed by that much oil in the intestines overnight. It has been shown that many of the larger balls are composed of bile, clumping inside the intestines after the liver flushes, during the night. They too are full of toxins and good riddance! Remember, getting the precipitated green "gallstones" should not be the main goal of a liver flush. (Although a great bonus)! Moving and evacuating the bile to drain toxins from the liver and tissue is the main goal of the flush.
Next morning: Zero Day - 6 A.M. Set an alarm to be sure to get this dose in. Upon awakening take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea (rarely happens) wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. Don't take this potion before 6:00 AM. You may go back to sleep for two more hours or until the porcelain throne calls.
2 Hours Later: 8 A.M. Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. You may go back to bed again if needed but most likely you will feel pretty good. Some moving meditation can be useful since you have to wait to break your fast.
Alternative Schedule 2: For the experienced. After taking the first dose of Epsom salts in the morning, wait two hours and take a second dose of the oil mixture (1/2 cup) and go back to bed. After two more hours take another dose of Epsom salts. This schedule may increase the number of stones you remove, but is not necessary and I never do it because I'm too hungry by then, lol!
10 AM: Time to break your fast. Start with some mineral vegetable
broth, diluted fruit juice, or coconut water to rehydrate. Fifteen minutes later have some fruit or simple brown rice with broth. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light and healthy. Eat lunch with some more mineral broth and by supper you should feel recovered.
How well did you do? Expect loose stool/sludge in the morning of course. It might still be brown or tan tinged during first movements. Then as it clears the real lime greens stones or sludge appear. Use a flashlight if needed and stir with disposable chop sticks to look for any real gallstones in the toilet bowl.
You have taken out your gallstones without surgery and relieved many ailments!
THANK YOU, HERBALISTS for this age old “cure”!
Many people experience the disappearance of their symptoms after doing a liver cleanse. While the liver cleanse may not get stones out, it may help with symptoms associated with Liver/gallbladder dysfunction, like headaches, neck and hip pain, indigestion, burping, Gerd, insomnia, and irritability to name a few. Please consult your practitioner if you have any doubts or questions about the flush.
